Photos in the snow!
Believe it or not that's a pond. I walked on it.

Is that a pond that's dry? Otherwise what's all the tangled woody stuff in the middle of it?
And gorgeous, gorgeous! _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

The intrepid explorer holds aloft the spear Glenpiror, that he hath forged for a mighty purpose and topped with a special head:
t'was designed for a gutter cleaning purpose!
Coincidentally spears are much easier to handle than swords. It takes years to train someone to use a sword properly; you can get someone to a decent level of proficiency with a spear in a few weeks. Admittedly the finer aspects of interplay between polearms and swords are a matter of far lengthier study relative to each other - and to get beyond that basic proficiency takes a lot longer. There's a - limited - sense in which you might consider a sword the equivalent of a modern pistol.
It's a matter of great irony that people in eastern martial arts generally consider staffs and spears to be peasants weapons and thus unworthy of respect. Though by respect they most commonly mean formalism - which is another concept entirely.
I digress. ^^;;; _________________ Never forget,

Much more recent picture of myself. Have some other to upload, at some point. Probably. I dunno, nothing really stands out right now. >_<
A friend of mine told me I look really angry in this one. That's rather unfortunate, because that's.. just how I normally look. >_> _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Pictures from Finland:
The igloo we slept in on the first night:
The nearby 'town'.
The Swedish/Finnish border. We were close to the border so we went for a walk in Sweden one morning.
The most northerly church in Sweden.
We made snow angels and that's acually a river, underneath about six inches of snow is the ice.
The hill where we waited for the Northern Lights.
I have more but I think that's probably enough. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

Wow Britty, that looks amazing! I'm kinda jealous, I've always wanted to go up to Sweden. I apparently have family there (although with my family that's hardly surprising. We're quite widespread.) I'm thinking of going to Norway for my MSc but I don't know if that'll happen.
You slept in an igloo?! Cool! _________________ He who does not eat cheese will go mad. ~ French proverb.

Gorgeous photos! I think you're very fortunate to have gone on that trip, must have been quite an experience.
Usa: it looks like a dust jacket photo. And if you tilt your chin up juuust a hair and look through your glasses rather than over them, you'll look less angry. ^_^ _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Britland, those pictures are amazing. O_O I bet that was a fantastic trip!
And I echo Alli's sentiments. You slept in an igloo?! AWESOME!
Asa: Thank you for the advice. And it might make a good dust jacket photo! I'll have to bear that in mind. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Those pictures are awesome Brit! I hope you had an amazing time on your trip, it looks like it was a lot of fun. Did you get to see the northern lights? _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

It was a little, warm, out.
Sun-bleached you might say. Don't step in the light....

That's an awesome photo, Nem, I love how the windows reflect the sun onto the street! _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I can sort of see this as one of those photos in a book titled "England, Circa 2011", you know? It's just one of those exceptional candid photos that captures everything and nothing simultaneously. Very... "daily life" sort of thing. Anyway, I rather love it. ^_^ _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Miho just wanted to share some photos of her past year. Been flying a lot. Zee boyfriend finished of his private license and is now working on commercial and I've had the opportunity to fly with him on more than one occasion.
I have a few from last summer, but meh.
So... we shall begin in the fall of last year:
