I think it could work if the whole top curved, like a lower-case 'f.' Doesn't really look like that'd be an easy edit, though.

I'd also expect that bending the upper stroke up would probably be less complicated than rounding out the entire upper end of the letter.

How's this?

Five minutes, including doing the coloring and resizing and uploading. Once you've GOT a vectorized version, adjusting it is pretty easy. It's just the initial creation that's time consuming.
