Beyond politics, there is a tragedy in Israel.
Background: Israel is in the grip of an eight-month drought, and today a forest fire raged out of control. 13,000 people have been evacuated from the Carmel region. A bus carrying 40 prison guards, police, and volunteer civilians was overwhelmed by the fire; all but three were killed.
Here is a link to the Jerusalem Post story.
Please pray for the survivors and victims, their families, and the evacuees. Please pray that this fire be brought swiftly under control. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

That's terrible! The families of the survivors and those still at risk are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Most of the time, I would just consider that in with prayers and go on about my day. Not mention it publicly, you know? But, I will this time. Just to show public support for the people affected by the fires. It's a terrible thing, fire. No matter how much effort we put into controlling it, what we eventually realize is that all we've managed to do is contain it - and then then only just.
My thoughts and prayers go to all of Israel, and especially those of the Carmel region. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

I didn't even know there was a drought, never mind fires. I hope that everyone will be okay and I will definitely keep these people in my thoughts. _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

There has been a lot of news coverage about the fires here, but I didn't know about the drought. I will keep Israel in my thoughts. _________________ He who does not eat cheese will go mad. ~ French proverb.
