i feel compelled to compliment the lady on her lighting... i notice the subtle corresponding colors in the highlights and for some reason i think it is very important to mention how epic that is...

Things just keep getting more and more interesting.
Now we are left to wonder if the stalagmites play a significant role since Bel is placing Willow behind them.
I agree if Bel could smile, it would indeed be bloody scary.

i dono if the stalagmites are significant in any way except that they would shield Willow from view and probably any incoming fighting about to happen... now that he's got such an epic bargaining chip he's likely doing all he can to hold on to her and keep her from getting necessarily injured in the cross fire.

Just a few random, probably useless observations...
1) Willow's eyes are half open. She's down, but she's not out. After that much pain she's probably in no shape to do anything immediately, but one of the problems with hiding her where no one will be able to see her is, no one will be able to see her. If she's given enough time to recover, she might try something before Bel (or anyone else) will be able to stop her...
2) Judging from Bel's head whip towards the passageway, he knows or suspects Earthsong is on her way, and he's getting ready for her. He may not know or suspect the Guard is with her, though, and that might upset his plans. Also, he might want to consider that thanks to the earthquake he's got a new sunroof in his cave, and at least one of the Guard can fly...
3) Bel don't get no respect. When you're an all conquering villain and your own minions, over whom you hold the power of life, death, and infinate agony, snark on your appearance, you know you don't get no respect. |

*ahem* Tengu too... >_>... though i guess there's not much she can offer by way of air support... she can't exactly fly willow out of there like Felluca can...
I doubt Bel would just leave her unguarded... someone is bound to stick around to make sure she doesn't try anything... perhaps Alyss or someone less combatant... like perhaps Tristam (though I doubt Bel's that stupid honestly...)
Though then again willow IS infected... i don't think Bel would have a problem stopping her in her tracks...

I think he meant he thought he had failed because it felt different, but had, in fact, succeded. Willow would have no soulstone, so there are two possibilities: A) his taint is now throughout her bloodstream (shudder) or B) it didn't work. Either way, I'm sure we'll find out soon...

I thought he meant that he'd failed to activate her power/locate a soul stone because she's an eve and hasn't realized her power/s yet. i'm fairly sure that he DID manage to infect her though because he was able to hurt her in the activation... although it is yet unclear how that infection will affect her if he tries the "infection heart grab thing" on her... but:
