I thought Jesus' actual brithday was meant to be sometime between mid-October to mid-November - I forget the exact date. The actual celebration of Christmas was placed closer to the traditional Mid-Winter Equinox festivals, though I will have to consult Q.I. on this one, as I'm sure they covered it in a Christmas edition.

Though I am aware that the Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas on the 4th or 5th of Janurary.

If celebrating Christmas is piety, then there are a lot of very pious non-believers out there.

Ha, Nu. Pretty much the only time I'm pious is when the stereotypial 'Christmas' rolls around. The rest of the time I feel free to be perfectly hateful to rednecks. I am a horrific christian.

The fact that you recognize your faults shows that you have a more faithful idea of what being Christian is. Or, well, so my own beliefs would point at. I do not claim to be the be-all, end-all of such things. I'm not even denominational at this point...
