Besides, isn't your sentence missing at least one word at the beginning?

Is being off-topic so very wrong? Aren't topics, like conversations, supposed to change and evolve as old subjects wear through and new ones are naturally rotated in?
But on to the on-topic question anyway...
| Tamir wrote: | | Who's buying the dvd when it comes out? ^_^ | Not us! Even if they were going to release it at the same time over here (which is highly unlikely. Never understood that - doesn't it just encourage piracy?), DVDs are just too expensive. Perhaps in another three years, when we'll find someone selling it at a boot sale.
(Why the estimate of three years? Because we just bought Serenity on Sunday...)
*Well, technically, two - but that's not a pronoun.
Three!

I dunno. I like how Joss trusts his fans, and I personally like to buy CDs/movies of artists I like. If I enjoyed something, the people who made it should make money for it! Besides, I don't see this DVD being particularly expensive.
What is it with me and ontopicness? I take my mod status too seriously. >_> |

No, because a [sic] is only for direct quotes, not paraphrasing. And yes, it is missing a word. I was considering changing it, but was too lazy. Look at my location next time, yo! This is the only thing I nag about, and I don't get to do nearly enough nagging on this forum. I'll grab any change I can get! ^_^ _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I bought Serenity today.
Asa, Serenity and Firefly are set 500 years in the future. Which means that grammer could have evolved just as it has done so in the past. Mal could very well have been speaking proper grammer.

Just bear in mind that you are trying to nitpick someone who wields a Grammar Hammer. If you see a mistake, it'll usually be deliberate - the English language is more fun when you can bend and twist it abnormally. Hence the word concocted earlier, "topicity." We're even worse out loud.
Speaking of topicity...
Meh, I got nothin'. Um... yay for Dr. Horrible?

I know, that's why I don't do it much - 'cause I don't need to.
Whedon sort of stumbled a bit in the headlong comedy rush toward the end, when Penny died - but the very last few second might possibly have redeemed it, by twisting it all out of recognition. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I was happy for him, making it into the League, and all. I mean, it obviously sucked when Penny died, but I was worried he'd learn a valuable lesson about friendship or something. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

I take it you're in the group that didn't like the last act so much, AsA?
I dunno, I thought it was excellent. He reaped what he sowed, and became a true villain just like he wanted, destroying himself in the process. It's sad. |

That's why I said twisted it all out of shape - I think what Whedon was implying is that Billy was imagining or hallucinating the whole thing with the villain/superhero plot - that he's really a geeky nobody with a weird eye-tic, illusions of grandeur, and a suppressed... something. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I've sort of got it on the brain, and I was looking for an explanation for the seemingly random change of tone. It might be I caught it because I was looking for it, or I could be reading too much into it and it's not really there at all. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

| That's not how I read it at all. I think it was all real, and that bit at the end was kinda like Billy saying goodbye. After Penny's death, he totally and completely became Dr Horrible, leaving his humanity and feelings behind. |
