What's so unfortunate about that? _________________

Congratulations to Lyla for successfully climbing up the stem of the mast!
That's not an easy thing to do (I'm not entirely sure if it's even technically possible). Most people would use the Ratlines instead.
Makes it easier (and safer) to get back down, too...
And a note to all landlubbers: "Abaft" means "to the rear of the ship". _________________

I'm sure she used the ratlines. Either that or she's far more talented that you people give her credit for. XD Will it make you happier if I go edit that, JackAce? /because I feel I should let you know I've been on a ship about twice in my 23 years and neither of them was a good experience. I also hadn't the daftest clue of what ratlines were. Thank you for enlightening me. _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb

To be honest, I didn't know what they were called either (until I found that Wiki-article) but I knew sailing ships had these big rope-ladders strung between the deck anf the tops of the masts to get up there.
On a real sailing ship, a lot of folks would have had to climb up into the rigging at the same time, and climbing up the mast one by one would've been a rather impracal way of doing that...

Actually, I find it rather amusing the way it is. It also goes a long way to establish that Lyla doesn't really know her way around a ship (yet).
If Nawahqde had been around when she started climbing, he'd probably had called her back down to instruct her on the use of the ratlines... _________________

So: Weapons. Are there public weapons, or should I retroactively edit Mr. Casey there some weapons into his luggage? I originally had this idea of a "literal battle-axe" guitar, but... Yeah, that would just be silly. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

I'm just assuming we're all armed with our weapon of choice. :/ It'd be kind of odd if you're just walked away from a braining with a metal bar without arming yourself I guess? _________________ Never forget,

I think it's best to wait on Mane's take - unless the ship used to be a pleasure barge previously, I imagine there's an emergency stock somewhere.
But if in doubt, Max/Greg is our cook and Mane's already said that the kitchen will be fully stocked. So why not arm him with some meat knifes? XD I'll probably post later on this evening or tomorrow morning in the main thread. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

You guys can retroactively edit your bios to include a weapon if you'd like. Your characters would have known there would be danger and fighting...however, if your character doesn't have a weapon for any reason (forgot it at home, is buried beneath a mountain of clothes, tucked away in luggage, out of the room and no time to grab it, etc) then there are plenty of resources onboard for the creative. Besides, wyverns aren't too smart. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

Ret-conning my way into a weapon sounds like a plan....
Edit:
I also went ahead and detailed his musical instrument (which he'll play at a future downtime), and the protective case he has for them both. You may find it strange that he carries his weapon and his musical instrument in the same case: I say when you're playing music for a thousand rabid fans who want nothing more than a mosh pit, a weapon is essential to survival!.
Oh, and his clothes. Mostly for myself, so I stop getting confused as to what he's wearing. He's going to be putting on a coat after the battle, though. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Uh Ponce? You'll want to edit your post, as it's the GM who tells you the consequences of your attacks on enemies and reactions of NPCs - players don't get to decide for themselves. You can put in the intention behind your attacks, but it's the GM who decides the result. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Gonna take a page out of the Vamps book here...
I'll be posting tomorrow regardless of whether you post or not. Even if it's a "My character totally fails at life" or "My character rawkz my sawkz," please post it so I have something to respond to. Otherwise I'll assume inaction...and wyverns tend to take advantage of such situations. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

Huh. The stars around the wyvern's head were literal, physical entities...
I'm beginning to think that "outside the box" is well and truly the total norm for this game, yeah? _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .
