I can't remember where I heard this, or the exact quote, but it was something like this: "An evil man will gloat before he kills you, but a good man will kill you without a word."

The character that said it was like a super villain or something.
The earliest version we know of is from Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett, and depending on your perspective you could say that it was either the narrator or Captain Vimes who said/thought it.
Terry wrote:
Something Vimes had learned as a young guard drifted up from memory. If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you're going to die. So they'll talk. They'll gloat.
They'll watch you squirm. They'll put off the moment of murder like another man will put off a good cigar.
So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.

Sounded like Anthony Horowitz to me, but Prattchett would have got there sooner.

Incidentally Terry FTW

Hold your horses, silly people. I told you I'd tell you today, so I'll tell you today. Wink

Tinu's vote doesn't matter. Why? Because no matter how she votes, this person won. Drumroll, please!

Tinu won! Smile Congrats! Even though she's not here to see it, I'm sure she'll be back eventually.

ack! o__________o;;;;
I'm gone five days and see the havoc you wreak on a writing forum! XD

Well, I was SUPPOSED to be gone till sunday, but the internet is my stress relief. Sorry for making you guys wait.

And thank you all so much! *hugs for all* I actually thought the script was rather bad, but I was too fond of the original tale to write another one. You all did such amazing pieces I can't believe I won! Heh, maybe this spring I WILL enter that script contest I've been considering for the past three years. . .
