Ack, I hadn't even considered what sort of makeup to wear, I'll keep that in mind. I've actually got a blouse picked out, it's kind of a pretty aqua and tan striped one with a square neck - summery and nice. I'll run it by my mom's authority though. I should go get some slacks, but I'm not going to have time to find any good one between now and wednesday when the interview is - it takes me a week to find a single pair of jeans, which I'm not terribly picky about.

I should start taking notes. . .

Sounds good! Smile Show us pictures!

And just remembered: if you're going to wear any jewelry, only wear one stud in each ear. A wedding ring when you get one, but that's just about it.

Smile, make eye contact, and don't worry. Particularly for a casual job, you're far better off, IMO, nto thinking of this as an interview. Think of it as a conversation with someone new and interesting.

And don't forget to bring along some questions of our own. Dress code is a good thing to ask about, along with a list of basic job questions (pay, hours, what the work entails etc etc etc) which you can ask if you don't get answers during the interview. You will usually be given some time to ask your own questions. You should always use it. And if you're not given that time, ask (politely, at an appropriate juncture) anyway.

Make sure to put the word "blood" in as many sentences as possible. They love that.

Seriously, though, I've got no more experience than you, so I can only wish you luck. Good luck! Very Happy You'll be wonderful, don't worry.

So today was the big day! It went really well, despite the fact that my knees were knocking and they had me sit on a stool. The lady was really nice and funny, and we had a good conversation. Though I was almost late because we got lost. . .So! I'll find out if I got the job in a week! Thank you all so much for your advice, it helped a lot! *hugs for all*

See...not so bad, ja? I'm sure you did splendidly. *hug*

I still want to take you shopping...because it would be an excuse to travel south and explore a new series of stores...<.<

D'aww, I missed it.
Honest to goodness, I've never had a job either, my mom keeps on nagging me about it...
But I don't want to. As far as labor goes, I can't think for myself, I automatically freeze up and my mind goes on auto pilot.
Which is odd, since onstage something like that would never happen to me...
Anyway, I have to do something boring, phisical and repetitive, or I fall to peices....cleaning duties for me.
I'm so weird.
Oh, lithrath should be our excuse to meet up!
Tinu lives an hour away from me, and we haven't come up for a good excuse to meet yet...

*suffers from extreme procrastination*
Nuuu!
I can't!
Too...much..effort!

Honsestly, I don't heve the means to travel *money for bus fare or a car*
And I have fairly strict parents...in some ways....it's odd. It was my mom's idea to get me a nose ring, and she's pretty trusting of me, but not always...I ain't that old! XP

My parent's would have heart attacks if I said "Hey, I want to go up to Greensboro to meet a friend I know from online." They'd die. We've been trying to arrange an "accidental"meeting, but it's a bit hard. . .oh, hey, we should look for some local concerts or something!

And lith, despite my parent's freaking, you should still totally come, that'd be awesome.

"Hi. I'm a random Canadian whose been corrupting your daughter while you sleep. Mind if I steal her for a few hours?"

How could they not love and accept me instantly? Rolling Eyes

As for event-based excuses, try eventful.com for listings of many, many things.

Just to follow on from what was said about make-up for whenever you next have an interview: it's best to wear a touch of light mascara, and light neutral/natural colours like light browns and pale pinks. But if you get a chance to see other employees milling about when you go, watch them and keep an eye on how they're dressed and done up.

Sometimes the interviewer(s) choices in such things will let you know the formality level, or at least what to expect. Saying that, I've only ever done retail, office and indoor food services work, so I think that's a very different environment to the one you'll be working in. I hope you get good news back.

Do make sure, however, that you only follow Rav's advice if female *nodsnods*

Unless you're auditioning for Rocky Horror or somesuch.

Actually, if you intend to audition for Rocky Horror, you should be wearing heavily khol-ed eyes, lots of mascara, nice bright red lipstick, corsetry and some fishnets. XP
