Bit of a heart-string tugger, this one.

I suspect this might be more down your street, Asa -

Nice to watch someone practising a craft. ^_^

Though I'm sure they get as annoyed by layman-touristy questions as the rest of us do when people start browsing the surfaces of issues we know lots about.

I think I have Herman Zapf's book! That was a good wee video, very instructive.

That's cool too!

But really, any example of someone doing what he's good at is fascinating for me. Sword or pen, if you know what you're talking about (and can talk well) I want to hear it.

Hmm? Oh! I was thinking of these thingies - http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Asgard_stone

/ Stargate reference

^_^

It is a neat technology though - I was thinking that it'd be good for blind people if you inscribed the cubes somehow so they could read them. interfacing with computers that are increasingly doing everything visually is one of those problems that... yeah....

Computers aren't as hard for blind people as you might think.. I know a blind programmer who gets along just fine.

You'd be surprised. Generally, the blind get along just fine with computers--in fact computers are considered assistive technology for the visually impaired. So much so, in fact, that there's a problem in the blind community with illiteracy--Braille illiteracy, I mean. "Why learn Braille when I can use a computer?" Such forth and so on. It's a pretty heated debate, actually.

That is such a fantastic demonstration of sound waves and frequency! That would be an AMAZING video to show at the end of a unit on sound waves. Very neat.
