Squee just saw the Indy movie tonight, and thought it was alright. The alien plotline irked Squee, as Indy is more about ancient mystical myths than modern alien fantasizing, but meh. It was a fun watch, if not on par with the originals. If nothing else...Shia did a decent job in the movie. Not that the role was exactly hard to fill given the dialog...but the 50s were all cheesy XD
Biggest problem with the movie though was the whole thing felt forced, a product of bad writing. But that's pretty standard fair in Hollywood these days...especially given some of the names on this film (*cough*George Lucas*cough*) There were some parts of the plot & dialoge that just made Squee cringe. Whatever, it was easy to look past and just enjoy the action & good ol' Indy fun. Worth a watch, won't ruin your the Indiana Jones experience like some other franchies have in the past, but certainly not up to the originals in quality. |

I thought it wasn't up to the quality of Raiders and The Last Crusade, but I honestly thought that Temple of Doom was worse XD _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

Saw Caspian yesterday! They deviated from the book a lot, but I still thought it was good though - but way too many battle scenes. The actual Prince Caspian only has a few. . .like. . .3. If they can't the battle scenes to a minimum in the first two, I wonder what the heck they're going to do if they make Voyage of the Dawn Treader(which has maybe 1) and The Silver Chair? (which has none)
They'd have an absolute field day with The Last Battle.
I'd like to know who said you can't have an epic fantasy movie without an epic battle scene. It gets tiring.
But, other than that, I liked it. I love trufflehunter and reepicheep. Want to kill Peter and Caspian though. My mom cried. XD

Oh, dear Lord, how I want to see Hellboy II!!!! Guillermo del Toro is the best and most creative person in the world- aside from my lovely David Tennant. . . .
del Toro did Pan's Labyrinth, which is my favorite movie- and I've seen the daemons in hte new Hellboy, so AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I might actually pee myself to see the movie- uhh... not really, that was a massive hyperbole... but anywho...

And that's enough caffine for you Red.
Saw an advert for Wall.E yesterday and I can't wait to see it, it did make me think of Mac's vs PC's when I saw the characters side by side though. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

So it doesn't come out this summer but. . . . I can't wait to see City of Ember! I loved the book, and I'm so glad they're making it into a movie, and it actually looks really good! ^_________^ _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Agreed! I can't wait to see City of Ember! And Wall.E! I still have yet to see Indy, but I'm not sure if I want to, and now my family's all upset because they say I'm ruining the mood with my pessimist attitude. I feel meh. _________________ Hi, this is my signature. How's that for original? |

It's High Fantasy. An epic battlescene is almost an universal trait for HF movies. _________________ Talked to a man who caught the

I saw kung fu panda last weekend and was very surprised. Pleasantly. I was expecting pretty much nothing from anything by dreamworks (best known for stealing concepts from disney or pixar, and turning them into star vehicles filled with crappy pop culture humor), but friends talked me into it, and it actually turned out cool. None of the problems I would have expected. The story's very standard in retrospect, but it did everything so stylishly that I didn't care much.
Some things are just recipes for awesome. Stylized 3d anthros going crouching tiger on each other is probably one of them.
Seeing Hulk this friday. Should be sweet. |

| When Squee heard the name a while back, Squee though it would be lame, but after seeing the trailer for Kung Fu Panda a couple weeks ago, it looked quite funny. And if it's as you say it is, without all the pop culture references, it definitely looks like a must see. |

A friend said it was funny if you saw it once and you were in a goofy, crazy mood. Then she corrected herself and said "You know what, it was just stupid." The trailers for that movie actually make me quite mad, I was raised oddly so I hate, loathe, and despise, ethic/racial jokes. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong
