Sunny, I don't think I can forgive you for that.
Today was blah. Just really really blah. If it weren't New Year's Eve I'd be in bed by now. _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

Today I say Happy New Years to everyone! I am ALSO spending my NYE "alone" at home - with my family, some of which won't be home, and others who might have friends over... but I'm spending most of the evening in my room by myself with pizza, brownies, and cider, playing Paper Mario (or watever of my GC games I feel like playing) and just chillin. I tried to invite a friend over... that bombed big time. *sigh* And I wasn't feeling like being social enough to go to the one party I was invited to. I just wanted a single friend and lots of hugs and food and games... Oh well.. lol _________________ Dub = Merlin!

Today I had lunch and a three hour conversation with my 95-year-old grandmother. It was lovely. ^_^ _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

(I had this written up earlier, but the net was down. So, here's my thoughts from this morning..)
Today I realized something, and it has to do with...everything I've been trying to come to terms with over the past several years. Forgiveness.
I used to think of Forgiveness in a very literal sense. Somehow, I would find this mythical "holy grail" in my life that would suddenly remove any and all guilt I had. Everything would be, for lack of a better term, perfect. For that reason, I looked in every place I could think of. I looked in places that I knew there would be no such thing, because the places I thought it might be were not what I needed either.
Now, the interesting thing I have come to understand through my searching is this: Forgiveness is not an external thing. That is, there can be no external thing that heals us until it is matched (or exceeded) internally as well. For all my searching I was going to come up empty every time, excepting that I could find forgiveness within myself.
Easy enough, right? I struggled next with what, exactly, forgiveness was. Surely to recognize a flaw or a mistake, and try to correct it or do better next time would be enough. The problem in that, comes from not quite understanding the mistake. It is better to try and think of a mistake as an object, let us us a baseball for an example.
With no external or internal force, the baseball is completely motionless. As forces build, either inertia or gravity, the baseball is put into motion. With enough motion, the baseball can in fact be a very destructive thing. If the baseball breaks a window should we then think of the baseball as a destructive thing? That certainly is the first reaction, and not entirely misguided. The baseball did break the window, after all.
However, it is not that simple. The baseball, without some sort of force behind it, would have been incapable of doing anything at all (let alone breaking a window). In fact, if no force were to exert upon the baseball, it would lie motionless until its components decayed into dust. So then, forgiving the baseball itself would not do much good. Instead, one must forgive the action upon the baseball. To apply this back to a mistake, forgiving the act is meaningless so long as you do not forgive the cause behind the action.
Once I realized that, the rest fell in to place quite quickly. Mistakes that have haunted me for many years suddenly had their strength opened and released. They became simple mistakes, no longer burdens I carried around my neck every day. The truth was not as easy as being angry at the mistake, of course. Instead of believing these mistakes were such horrible things, instead I had no place to put the blame except for myself.
All the same, the first step to solving a problem is recognizing its component parts. Without the ability to see a thing clearly, I could never hope to overcome it.
Today, I realized that to step forward, one must sometimes step several times backward. If one is on the wrong path already, plugging along stubbornly is unlikely to come any closer to absolution.
(And now back to the present).
Today I have a headache from thinking too much. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Today was super busy at work (day before a holiday and all), though after about 5 it slowed down almost to a crawl, I think everyone thought we closed early like we did on Christmas Eve. So since we were dead slow, I got to go home a bit early. Hurrah!
Happy New Year everyone, stay safe and have lots of fun. _________________ Dubbed "Cher" by Asa

Today was quiet. I invited a friend over after all, and we watched a movie. later, we went to pick up another friend, and dropped by my school in order to hide something in my locker and run wild through the halls.
Today I'm sad, because one of my best friends is leaving for college on Friday. She's had a lot of stress with her college, and a lot of things have gone wrong - I hope and pray everything will turn out alright for her. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Today we are bummed!!!! My mother in law was going to baby sit the kid for the day so we could have some nice New Year day together... Without the baby. But her car heater broke down and its below 30 with slick road and smogs, ice fogs and such.
Then again, its probaly safer if we all stayed home. I get nightmares about losing the baby. _________________ Keeper of Gwendowlyn's red hair.

Yesterday my mom and I took a day trip to visit my grandmother, by plane. It was lots of fun, we visited with her and my aunt and cousin, and then we flew back. We also mapped out my courses for my last two years in college, and figured out what I need to do to get it all worked out. Also last night, I went to bed massive early and am still exhausted...
Today I'm going shopping at Kohls. Socks and backpacks, here I come! _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Today I'm finally doing all the homework I've been putting off for the last two weeks.
Today my entire family is going to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It's one of the rare times that we're all interested in seeing the same movie, so we're making a trip out of it. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong
