Lesson learned today: When it snows, rains, snows, rains, and alternates as such for several days, and then drops to 10 degrees and stays put, there is one critically important thing to remember:
Never. Never-never-never-never-never try to run and catch up to the bus, downhill of last week's burst water main.
In a word: Ouch. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Relatedly:
Lesson learned this week, in and around the current snowstorm/melting/freezing shenanigans:
When there is a large sheet of CLEARLY thick ice on a poorly paved road, it's probably a better idea to drive AROUND the ice rather than straight over it - there's no telling if maybe, you know, there's a GIANT POTHOLE in the middle of the sheet of ice that your car will PLUNGE THROUGH.
And have to be towed out of.
I hate winter.

Learned recently: As it turns out, "normal" is not, in fact, a mood.
So if you find yourself looking at a group of people, and realize that you can't perceive any moods from them besides "normal" this may be the source of a lot of your other problems, and you're probably going to have to find some way to fix that...>_> _________________ {[Number One Perpetual Half Lurker Pseudo Regular]}

It is if one realizes one isn't and wants to be.
Another related lesson: If even one's mother notices one's lack of friends and starts trying to matchmake ("What about Rivka? She's nice. Or Liz, don't you like her?"), one probably has a problem there as well. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Lesson: You might think you're ready to ski on the big hill, but thinking and actually being ready are two completely different things.
Consequence: I am now bed ridden with a very sore knee and I need crutches to walk. It sucks to twist your knee while skiing I tell you. I'm just glad I didn't break anything, and that the skis where designed to come off during falls. Still sucks though. So now I'm finishing up a drawing for a devart contest _________________ Yo.

Lesson: When painting miniatures, or just painting in general, and drinking from a glass, make sure that you aren't dipping your brush in your drink instead of water.
Extra Credit: Later, after getting a fresh drink and water cup, make certain the cup you take a sip from is the drink and not the water.
Consequence: I now have minis shaded with soda and I that the paints I use do not taste good. I'm just thankful that my paints don't contain lead, or I'd be in real trouble. _________________ Dubbed Marcus by Asa

A kid in my class fractured his neck while skiing a few weeks back. He wasn't paralyzed thank heaven, but he has to wear a neck brace for the next yearish.

Today, I learned that, if you're attatched to a static-electricity-ridden TV via earbuds, DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN! I think it creates a circuit or something.
