Of course that global vote is nowhere near representative.
I'm convinced that much of Obama's landslide lead on that page is simply due to the facts that...
a) McCain's voters are a lot less likely to visit the site in the first place.
and
b) Internationally, this is not so much a political decision but a popularity contest. And in that regard, Obama just appears as the more likable person. _________________

Also many people in those countries have no access to the Internet.
Just voted! What a relief. Now we just have to push through the Election Day coverage and we can get the federal government rolling again, whoever wins!

Almost - but he's still in office for another few months. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

He's won the election, but the inauguration is not until 20 Jan 2009, which is when he actually becomes president. _________________ Keeper of Tristram's rings, and Felucca's very expressive ears. |

*checks* The Electoral went to Obama, but popular vote was split straight down the middle. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I left at 5:30 in the morning so I could get to my polling place. Zero wait! (At least, from the time they opened the doors to the time I voted. I ended up waiting a total of 10 minutes. One of my friends was in line for 2 hours.) _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

I'm bummed I wasn't able to get on here during the election. I was one of the mopes crying with joy when Obama gave his speech. Me and my mom, we're rediculous!
My state is still re-counting for out senatorial election, between Al Franken and Norm Coleman. Norm tried to say there was no need for a re-count, he was"obviously" the winner, but I wouldn't say winning by an alleged 477 votes makes you an obvious winner in a state of several million people. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |
