You can go to the main page and search 'earth', 'song' or 'earthsong'.
Failing that, here is a link. _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

Personality powers? Really? I never really thought that any of their powers were really indicative of their personalities at all. I based them more on interpretations or twistings of their associated myths. _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

Really? XD Some, like Tengu and Ulkurz, seem to fit this quite well (at least, to me). Wooooh, maybe your brain tricked you! _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

Well, the powers are the same for every memeber of a certain race, right? So that doesn't make much sense. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

@ TheDude - I remember it being said somewhere that each person's power manifests itself differently. 'Course, I'm not sure if that's referring to the power itself, or the way the power comes into existence in the first place, so yea...
If powers are unique to each individual, I'd say yes to the Personality Powers trope. Otherwise, not so much. _________________ I do commissions!

The powers are the same for all members fo the race, true. But they do fit the personalities of certain characters (and those being the only ones we see of their race), particularly the three mentioned on the relevant page. Some of them completely don't fit, too.
The trope is not that the powers are caused by the personality, it's that the powers fit the personality. Felucca is bouncy and outgoing, but also warlike. The big dragon is a great power or her personality. Tengu is boisterous, outgoing and a fighter, so the electric powers fit. Etc. _________________ Keeper of Tristram's rings, and Felucca's very expressive ears. |

The point of tropes is that they're aspects of the comic that are universal, and usually aren't thought out. Taking this as an example, it's a nice alignment for some of your characters. Now, if every character was like that, then it would be cliched and overused. But the fact that it happened a bit is within the normal margin of error, and gives us a readers a nice insight into the character. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Emmmaaaaaaa! XD
What AsA said, plus another Trope: Tropes are Flexible. They're fairly open to interpretation - whether they were a conscious decision or not, if someone thinks that they're there, they could probably be considered as being so (unless the person has a drastic lack of understanding of the trope in question, of course :p) _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |
