Eight hundred more words of junk to write and I am DONE for tonight. Lah.
(Also, does everybody else's grammar die whenever they write on their NaNo?) _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

Today, I finished what roughly amounts to chapter two with a really strong sense of... happiness. And fulfilment.
Maybe this is a sign that I should write more often.

10000 or so at the moment, I need to make up yesterday's and today's quota to get on track once again.
Is anybody still steady right now? Who's checking out with the daily wordcount? _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

I'm about... 7, 334 words behind. It's still about the longest thing I've ever written, even if it is almost entirely made of fail.
Not tooo bad for something so plotless. It's on hold ATM while I do some long overdue inking, but I was sending my characters off to do a beauty pageant. They'd bumped into a cameo of Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way, and I found that my Immortal had been taken offline while I was looking for a base to work from D:

Erk, I'm at 6456 meaning I'm 8547 words behind and I have loads of reading still do for my classes tomorrow. D: In my defense, I've been ill and I think I can blitz it today and tomorrow if I work hard. Wish me luck! _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

I can't seem to write more than 1800 words at a time. Any more and I lose my ideas and my wrists start to hurt. _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

I know this thread seems to be dead, but I might as well say here that this is why I'm barely on the forum this month, even less than I was before November.
Almost done, just a thousand or so words behind schedule... _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

*sigh* I had a really rotten week this week, so I unfortunately had to give up. I wish I could have kept going, but I have an essay and a speech write up due tomorrow, so while I'll probably try and blast it a bit over the weekend, I don't see me making 50,000 words.
However, I do actually LOVE the story I came up with this year, and I've decided that even if it doesn't make it with NaNoWriMo, I'll possibly do something snazzy with it on dA or lj. ^_^ _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Let me just say how jealous I am of anyone who can even attempt this. I could spend the better part of five years plotting things out and never gather the nerve to move past the planning.
edit: Also I guess it's over as of now (for all but a few zones). I didn't even notice the timing... _________________ {[Number One Perpetual Half Lurker Pseudo Regular]}

Oh, I doubt 7000 words or so is much of an attempt, so you're not too much worse than me. :p _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

7000's still darn good, more than you would have written!
Once again this year, though, I get to 50, 000 and I still don't have a finished novel. I need to condense my plots. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

50,000 words is more like a novella than a novel. Well, I guess that depends on the size of the novels you normally read. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Well the whole thing isn't about accuracy at all, it's just about length. And how catchy would 'National Novella Writing Month' be? Not as catchy as 'National Novel Writing Month', I can tell you that.
Actually, I have a story that would work for NaNo, since it would probably take about 3,000 pages to tell completely. It's in the same vein as stories like Wheel of Time, the massive, slow-moving, unstoppable ones. That makes it very hard to write normally, but if I had to blast it at NaNo, it might actually get onto paper. So yes, Virt, I know what you mean - this is one that's been in planning for many years, but isn't really going to get written in entirety.
Question - can you use an existing story, or does it need to be one you thought up specifically for NaNo? _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

No no, you can use a story you've had for twenty years or one you started the day of November first, it's whatever works for you. Some people even choose to do a collection of short stories instead of a novel, though I've heard that that one is deceptively difficult. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |
