Seeing as it's only a month away now, and I've been getting e-mails about the site's big ol' reset, I thought I would set up a new NaNoWriMo thread to see if any of the forumites would be taking part.
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and the general premise is that you have to write 50,000 words of original works between November 1st and November 30th. I would link to the website, but I beleive it's being re-furbished at the moment, so I'll either post back or edit here to add it in.
I've decided that even though I am insanely busy this year, their advice always says that it's easiest for busy people, so I'm giving it a go. I want to reach 50,000 words this year! And I've been chucking about some ideas.
So what about you guys? _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

| I've never understood how people can do this. I've never written anything longer than a short story, and even if I could, I'm sure I couldn't write so much in so little time. So I tip my hat to every NaNoWriMo participant, and watch from the sidelines. |

I'm going to give it a go, I hope. I'll probably get 12,000 words in again and fizzle out, though. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Oi, no negativity! Especially since it's not even started yet!
You'll find that what you bring to NaNo is what you'll get out of it at the end, so attack it with what you can and don't worry about it, because it's meant to be about having fun. I've not managed to complete it yet, but I did manage to write 16,000 words one year and I'm hoping to crack the big ol' 50,000 this year by not stressing it too much and not taking the story too seriously. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

I did it last year - the unfinished product is still sitting on my flashdrive waiting for me to go through it.
I fully plan on doing the entire thing this year and making use of several sheets of paper. I'm not going to type it up and do a word count until it's over though.
I've got several stories I can write with too, so this will be fun. Is it cheating to write on a story that you've written the prologue for? _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I'm always writing anyway so I'll give it a go, though I've never counted how many words I write, pages yes, words, no.
(I write everything by hand first so counting will be a pain.) _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

A definite maaaaybe... I probably write about 2000 words a night anyway, so NaNoWriMo shouldn't be too hard?

To quote Rav, no negativity! Yeesh!
And I'm happily participating again! I've gone three years winning, and I'm telling you it's not as hard as it looks. Best thing to remember- if it's crap it's crap. Who cares, just keep writing. Some of the most gloriously terrible writing you ever do will be in the area 30,000 words, and it'll make you just as proud as the good stuff when you sail through the finish line. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

I have a plotline I could write, but as of right now I really have no idea if I'm going to have time to write word one. With various RPs going, as well as coursework (Finals are the first week of December for me. )...
But, I'll re-register for this year and give it a shot, if I can find time to do even that. XD _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .
