You know, I never made that connection until you posted that, Thebes. You're completely right, though... And Bioshock was good... _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

I set it to run for 8 days, so it will stop accepting new votes on Sunday. _________________

So it looks like it'll be a High Fantasy Post-Apocalyptic, with technology roughly in the steampunk era, and exploring the frontiers of something or other. Maybe the classic "Noah's Ark" storyline? _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

One of my old story ideas was post-apocalyptic, new-frontier, high (for a 15-year-old) fantasy. It wouldn't be too hard to adapt to steampunk. I could post a better discription in 30min-1hour, if you guys are interested. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

No offense, but seeing as High Fantasy and Post-Apocalypta tend to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, I think we should give it until Sunday once the voting has closed before we make any final decisions about the story. After all, we may have to do a second run of voting if it comes to a tie.
I don't think we should stick to a specific formula like "Noah's Ark" though - personally I'm just not keen, and I feel like we should try for some more fluidity. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Not necessarily. In a way, Earthdawn is a Post Apocalyptic High Fantasy setting. And that seems to be working quite nicely...

Not exactly. It would be high fantasy post-apocalypse if, say, Sauron won the War of the Ring in The Lord of the Rings, and you told the story of the fellowship after their defeat. _________________ Talked to a man who caught the

Even parts of the actual story, like the orcs crossing the river, are really close to post-apocalypse. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

I was just throwing ideas out, I wasn't intending it as anything more than slight jest, really... _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

So, it's sunday, and if the Poll function works as it's supposed to further voting should now be impossible...
And it's a tie beteen High Fantasy and Post Apocalypse...
The question is now, do we actually try to combine these two genres into a single setting, or do we run a tie-breaker voting? _________________

As I see it, there are a few ways we could combine the two genres.
1- A disaster strikes a technologically advanced world and forces technology back to the Dark Ages, sort of like Tenshi's story from group 5.
2- A dimentional rift (or timewarp, or something) fuses an advanced world with a Medival/magic-based world, causing serious damage and leaving few survivors from each world.
3- Zombies in the Middle Ages.
Any other ideas? _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

| The third option contains things like plague, famine and dragons, of course, right? |
