Those are the kinds of hackers people don't ever talk about, or at least they take things the wrong way. The hackers were helping the LHC group by exposing a security hole that could have been used to do some major damage. Instead they just showed them it was there, so they could fix it.
Kudos to the hackers!

Why should we be scared, on the one hand we learn nifty new stuff, and explain all sorts of things.
On the other hand we all die instantaneously (Or so they say {Not that I believe it}) So either way you'll never know when it'll happen, so No problems as far as I can tell.
