No, you're right, britland, and the few of us that do thouroughly enjoy that color are reduced to a diet of eggplants and grapes....and the occasional letuce or onion...

Hamburger Onion Pie. Ground beef & onions in a pie crust covered with this cottage-cheese-and-egg stuff. Normally it's really good, but we were low on grocheries so my mom used red onions instead of white and cheedar cheese instead of cottage.
Not quite the same. ugh.
