Earthsong's RSS feed is missing the
field in the <item
tag.

^^ Is the proper example of what a pubdate looks like.
We at www.frumph.net use the pubdate to generate the information about the lastest feeds from over 100+ webcomics that use RSS, and would like to see if we could assist you in any way to having this work for Earthsong as well.

I think Lady Yates omits that part. She writes her RSS files by hand. It's always a pain to encode dates that way.
Of course, this would not be an issue if she got herself a proper content management system like Drupal or Wordpress or one of the many, many other ones out there. :-Þ _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

Well, it can be bludgeoned into serving as a proper CMS. For some purposes anyway. If you know what you're doing. And it's definitely better than a fully static site. But Drupal's better for general purposes, since it's less blog-centric. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

I pretty much just wrote my own, since I already had the database for my blog, i just made a /rss/default.asp that formats it on its own in the proper context
| Code: |
%>

<%=RSSadoRS("title")%>

<%=TheInformation%>

<%=TheCurrDateT%>

<%
RSSadoRS.MoveNext
Loop
|
Like such, so that it automatically just inserts the data each time its opened.
you dont need a full CMS to do it at all
[/code]
Anyways, one of the cool features we have at our Listing site is that with a click of a button you can check which comics have been updated on a dialy basis so you dont have to cram through all your bookmarks or open your news feed program, etc. and we use the standard
compliance. Its pretty handy |

Which would be quite awesome...
...But probably needs to wait until a few more secrets have been revealed in the comic. _________________

Or it could be an AU RPG... _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Yes; but Lady doesn't have a database. It's a static coded site. As far as I can tell, her process for posting a new comic page works like this:
1) Draw, color, and shade the page.
2) Start Dreamweaver.
3) Open a copy of her blank template archive page.
4) Fill in the details for the new image.
5) Save the file as a copy.
6) Open the index page.
7) Rewrite the blog post and update the "current page" image.
8) Open the RSS file.
9) Type in the code for a new
and save it.
10) Upload everything.
Essentially, she does absolutely everything manually. It must take forever. And the resulting site is hard to maintain -- the archives pages are still using the old design, because updating them to any other design would require large amounts of time and effort. Some kind of automation would help, but Lady is chary of code she didn't write herself. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |
