|
|
Wowza, someone just had me sit down and watch Blink, an episode of a wonderful TV show called Doctor Who.
I must say, I'm hooked after one episode of that show. It was scary as all hell, (almost) made me pee my pants, and most of all, had an awesome and fairly original premise. Can't wait to see more!
But, the relative purpose of this thread is for episode recommendations. I think this is a British show (correct me if I'm wrong), and some of y'all speak that language, so if you're a fan, discuss :D |

Blink is indeed one of the better episodes. For a similar level of creepiness (though a different kind thereof) may we recommend the double bill The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances? _________________ You can't look dignified when you're having fun.

"Are you my mummy?"
*shudders*
In any case, I'm SOOOO excited that they brought Donna back! I'm not entirely sure I like that they took a lot of snarkiness out of her character and made her be in awe of the Doctor...but eh.
EXTRA BIG SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!
And Who else was extra revved that ROSE TYLER IS BACK?!?!
That is all.
((EDIT: I think there should just be one big spoiler warning on the thread. Thoughts?)) _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

Spoiler warning probably wouldn't hurt.
And are we just reccommending from the new Dr Who, or all of it. Although admittedly by todays standards its like watching an original Star Trek episode - not so scary anymore for the plot, but when you see what people were wearing...
Anyway, from the *new* Who - Season 2's The impossible planet/the Satan pit two parter. _________________ If it's not on fire, it's a software problem

As far as I'm aware, series 4 has only premiered in the UK officially thus far and since episodes are being aired we should probably have a spoiler warning up methinks.
And I am seriously considering taking up Doctor Who... Once I finish Stargate Atlantis. ^^ _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Mm, Blink is perhaps the best episode of the new Doctor Who for sheer creep factor. Especially the ending *shudder*. That or The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit double bill.
Yeah, anything from seasons NOT aired yet outside the UK should definitely be spoilered.
Just to test, I think the olive or green font colours should be adequate for the purpose, but if not, i'll do some figuring and find out hat exact font colour to use.
The latest series is shaping up to be extremely interesting thus far, I have to say, though...
EDIT Clearly the olive and green font colours don't work for spoilers. I'll work out the exact hex reference and post it in a sec.
The hex colour #445533 should work as spoiler tags. Highlight it to read.

Squee recently watched a couple episodes of the new Who series. Squee was never impressed with the old Who, but it's been really well done now. Squee was quite surprised, and now need to get a hold of more copies to watch |

the new Who is the bombest show on television aside from Stargate Atlantis!
I'd watch the episodes with satan in them, lotsa fun. The pit, I think they're called? It's one and two. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

yeah, and what are you doing? Doctor Who would not approve.
I was trying to work on my post count yesterday, though, by saying hello like five times in every intro. Please forgive me, I've come to my senses today and now my over posting is pureply boredom driven, I swear.
NOW BACK ON TOPIC FIEND!
This above mentioned spoiler, which I will not name for fear of making an exponential spoiler growth event, how sure is anyone about it? Because I'm happy, but not REALLY happy because that character got a little obnoxious after awhile. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

Personally, i'll wait to see where they go with it. I'm dubious, because of the utter finality with which the avenue for the return of that character was closed off, but... there are many ways they could conceivably do it, so...
The theory goes, I think, that Donna is actually FAR more than meets the eye, and i think i begin to agree with it the more I watch of the series.
They've got some plot threads to tie off from last series, too. most notably, Queen Elizabeth's anger at the Doctor... _________________ Keeper of Tristram's rings, and Felucca's very expressive ears. |
