Since my parents died before I turned...what, twelve? I never really had anything enforced by them. Besides, they weren't involved in our lives in the time they WERE alive. Pfft.
My aunt, on the other hand, compensated for our wildness by being rather strict. my high school curfew was ten, and any later had Aunt Suzanne ringing the local police captain frantically, who was an old friend of hers.
That only lasted for a few months though, because she had three boys to look after as well. Things got less strict after that, and eventually Aunt Suzy actually let me go out on dates, and get back home at 10:01 without freaking. _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb

*hugs for Ponce*
I'm living at home and going to one of the local universities, and so my parents laid down ground rules the summer I graduated - the first was that if I was out later than 10, I had to call them and tell them where I would be and when I would be back. Personally, I don't mind that - they're not dictating where and when, they just want to know the information. Which is fine by me. I'm usually in bed by 10:30 anyway, I've got no social life to speak of. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^
