If you're an American, remember to get your taxes done - tomorrow is the deadline!
I just finished mine, and I have this terrible suspicion that I've been doing them wrong for the last three or four years, because all of a sudden my estimated refund is bigger. A LOT bigger. Like, $2000 bigger. I don't think I've been declaring my tuition expenses right. Bah. The tax system is hideously complex, even for fairly simple cases like me. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

Forget the Ides of March. The Ides of April are what really concern me as I am not a Roman Emperor. _________________ Dubbed FOOT by the awesome AsA!!!
I used to think everyday I didn't wake up and gargle a few rounds from a revolver was a victory, but little "golden" moments like this make me wonder, "A victory for who?"

Mm, I was supposed to get my taxes done a month ago. I'm just too darn lazy. Last year they sent me a letter saying "give us money now or you die!" a while past the deadline, and I did it then. ^^;; |

I don't have any. . .*is too young*
But my family got them done a while ago I think - though there was a bit of a problem with my India-located brother's.
anyone got their refund/economy-stimulating return yet? _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I hated taxes also. I seriously hated them. I'm getting some decent money back though. We'll see how it goes. _________________ :: I'm six foot four, an all-American guy, and handsome and talented as well! :: |

My parents were happy because it turns out we owed over a thousand dollars less than we thought...
...all of which is now helping my sister and I go to New York tomorrow. My parents are good to us. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

No taxes for meeeee! I didn't have any income. Next year, however...*quails*
I have an advantage, though-my dad's a tax lawyer, so he's pro at doing it correctly-and he and Mom are the most meticulous record keepers I've ever seen. Three filing cabinets, all in a row, all six feet high. A couple of days ago my dad told me I should start thinking about getting one. He's probably right, but...filing cabinets are scary. _________________ I love children...but I could never eat a whole one.

"I see you've moved up in the world, Spot!" Hee hee.
My dad's a tax preparer for a tax-doing company, so he does ours too. I've actually had taxes since 10th grade, I think, since I was 16 certainly. It's just that my dad always did it. ^_^ _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

*sighs dreamily* New York...such a beautiful town. Even more so now that you don't have to worry about getting mugged...
Yep, personal filing cabinet = leaving Neverland for me. I DUN WANNA DO IT. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME.
I just want to know why taxes are so complex. Wouldn't it save everyone a ton of hassle if it was one flat rate or anything? Any tax law students here to explain why it's so weird? _________________ I love children...but I could never eat a whole one.
