|
|
Each race has it's own specific Soulstone Power. And we can observe what the Power for each race is, just by watching the characters in action.
But the only Human we got to see in action so far is Nanashi. And she's got the Siderean Gift, so she can no longer be counted as a representative of the Human race.
So, what would the normal Soulstone Power of a Human be? _________________

Actually as far as I know, there has not been an example of a human soulstone in Earthsong thusfar. I recall there was a huge amount of speculation about it before, though it may have been revealed during the time I was away from the forums last.
From what I recall, though, we never knew. I personally believe it's an unbreakable will ("Iron" will if you like). _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

That sounds cool, but wouldn't something like that rather be a permanent Trait, rather than a Power that can be turned on and off? _________________

I agree with Tenshi, I think the human soulstone ability is some sort of willpower.
/Edit. Huh, this has me thinking now, in this page ES says "Nanashi's will is strong." In the next page she seems to force Bel away somehow. If you look in the panel below, Nanashi's soulstone is still green, I'm assuming this means it hasn't turned into Sideran Element yet.
So have we already seen the human soulstone power be used? _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

@Britland: That was my belief from it. Whereas most mortals would never be capable of standing up to a planetary avatar, the human soulstone power is...I don't want to say invincibility, but it comes close.
When push comes to shove, and the adrenaline hits the nervous system, and the only thing in the entire universe is the one single goal that you can remember, what does that do to you? I made the point on the old forums that humans have accomplished technically impossible feats under such circumstances.
"Iron" will, as it were, makes the person even on Earth stronger, faster, even sometimes much more critical of a thinker. On Earthsong, where those are purified from their original form, I can only imagine what it could do... hence invincibility.
Them's my two cents. _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

You know, I was surprised at how much this was discussed in the old forum, and am doubly surprised to see it show up again.
The problem is, all of the Lady's imaginary races are, to some degree, based on humans. Every race is given something to make it distinct, but since humans are the starting point, they seem to have nothing that makes them special. So I dunno. |

Hmm...
"But Nanasi's will is strong... much stronger than any of us imagined!"
I agree that this blast which pushes Bel away is probably Nanashi's Soulstone Power. But surely, Nan wasn't the first human to visit Earthsong. If Willpower was the Power of all Humans, Earthsong wouldn't have been surprized by it.
Indeed, Bel even mentiones that he has "collected" a Human before, and apparently that one didn't put up as much of a fight as Nanashi does. _________________

Yeah, and the red haired girl also looks pretty human, although we admittedly don't see enough of her to be certain. _________________

The emissaries were also taken by surprise; they thought Bel to be a benevolent planet. I feel like they didn't put up any fight. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

I'm totally sticking to my theory for humans. It just seems to fit, and to be pretty cool besides. It explains why Nanashi was able to fight Bel, despite him being an uberpowerful avatar of a planet. Er, what are they called in the ES universe again? Sorry, too much of Andromeda's later seasons...
And not every other race is based on humans. There's the token "dragon" planet, and since children resemble their planet they would probably be dragons. Though I can't remember now if that's in the redux or the original... _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

And that in itself is an interesting piece of fact...
Anyways, if great willpower is the Human Soulstone Power, then what is that white glowing energy that pushes Bel away from Nan?
It's not Siderean Power yet.
It looks like some kind of Psychic Blast, which would fit in with the willpower theory, but would Humans have this virtual fearlessness and a psychic attack power? _________________
