I don't know if any of you has heard about this, but May 10th is the first 'Pangea Day.' It's an attempt to bring parts of the world together through film, while people all over the world are watching the same thing at the same time.
This is the official site, it explains the idea better than I can. You might find some viewings near you if it sounds interesting... _________________ Dubbed Cube by Asa

Wow, that does seem to be pretty interesting. I'll look into it. _________________ You wrote "your welcome". What about my "welcome"? |

I saw those too, but I found out about Pangea Day from www.ted.comwhich has a lot of other interesting videos, but barely related, since TED is a yearly conference with speakers talking about all kinds of subjects. _________________ Dubbed Cube by Asa

Interesting, but sadly I'll be on the road for it.
Plus if everyone is watching at the same time, some poor time zones are going to get shafted and have to take the graveyard shift. _________________ Mors Certa, Vita Incerta.

Well, it was yesterday, and, for anyone who missed it...
The site has many videos, which I, for one, hope to have the time to browse. Youtube has a clip of the first 20 minutes, out of the 4 hour event. _________________ Dubbed Cube by Asa

I, personally, am against pangea day. Global unity and understanding terrifies me. I'd much rather they think I'm as cool as I, as an ostentatious american, act.
There's no movies about or remotely involving Oregon or the Northwest corner (Read: the friendly part) of the US anyhow. _________________ :: I'm six foot four, an all-American guy, and handsome and talented as well! :: |

I missed out thanks to fighting Mother's Day crowds at work. It's tough being a bagger when a holiday rolls around.
Pangea Day seems like a pretty neat idea. Maybe I'll get to participate next time. |

Well, I'd agree that it is a novel idea, but, at the moment? the world's view of Americans isn't always 'cool', so I can't see how you lost too much. I don't think Pangea will directly lead to 'global unity and understanding' either, since international politics are often against that, in the long run. However, I do believe that, for those who did participate, Pangea Day has been a day of recognition: that other countries are jsut as human, have the same emotions, ect. _________________ Dubbed Cube by Asa
