Have we ever had a topic like this before? My quick search says no. Anyhow! I was just thinking about something and I realised that it's something that I'd like to do once in my life.
I'd like to see a rocket launch.
It's not too crazy, but I'd really like to do it.
Anyone else got some stuff that they've just gotta do before they kick the bucket? _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

Single-handedly save the world. =)
On a more serious note, I think it would been really cool to see a rocket launch, but I think I'll survive without it.
The one thing I really want to see before I keel over is an aurora.
I also have a minor travel-related goal to visit all seven continents.
I would also, at some point, like to hike the Appalachian trail (a trail through the mountains that goes all the way down the Eastern US--Maine to Georgia).
And sometime, in the far future when they allow citizens to go into space, I would like to do so.
Most everything else on my list is travel or nature related. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

This being spurred by the launch this afternoon, right? I watched it on the TV in the therapy waiting room. It was awesome, and very exciting.
I'm about to realize the goal that has consumed my life for the past four years - I'm actually rather at a loss for what to do next. I'm sure I had something I wanted to do before I decided to make aliyah... I just can't for the life of me think what it might have been. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I would also like to go to Vegas. And the Aurora Borealis would be AMAZING too.

I think we had a discussion about this a while ago. The things I'd like to do are:
Swim with dolphins/sharks in the wild.
See the Northern Lights (that little wisp of slightly green cloud I saw in Finland does not count).
Get published.
Visit Athens, especially the Acropolis.
Learn how to spell restaurant without googling it. (I'm serious) _________________ Britland as dubbed by AsA

That used to be a big problem for me. I started pronouncing it "Rest-are-rant" in my head to help me figure out how to spell it. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Also guarantee. I'm never sure, and I've taken to pronouncing that 'gware-an-tee' to remind myself. Then I look it up, if the browser doesn't have spell-check built in (*coughcoughIEcough*). _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I'd like to write at least one song I'm happy with, and sing it.
Though most of my overarching goals are intentionally nigh impossible so I always have something to do.*
And I don't know if this will help at all, but: Picture a restaurant high above a busy city, with many people at many tables and a lovely view.
Rest-as in relaxation
aur-as in aural, for the murmur of the room
ant-how everybody looks
*For those of you who read xkcd, the desire predates the comic, but I would have tried it. _________________ Dubbed "Fish" by Asa. Wren->Fish

I'd like to abseil down a skyscraper.
Build my own home.
Build furniture for aforementioned home.
Join the police. (Though they're kinda full at the moment what with the recession and budgets cuts and all, so that looks unlikely.)
Subset of that I'd be interested in the tactical firearms group, or whatever they're calling it these days.
Open my own karate club. (Though you know, since I'm not prepared to sell out it's probably best to wait until money isn't any kind of concern.)
Oh and motorcycles look fun.
And make my own space strategy game that finally fixes all the niggles I have with the way other people do it.
Oh and there's a host of little niggles I have about how the world works that I generally make other people fix for me. I'm not sure it counts as a goal when you just convince other people to do it. Still, minions. In a sense. Having minions obey my will is a goal right? ^_^ _________________ Never forget,

If you want minions your should open your own company--nothing like Bureaucracy for producing minions. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I used to have a lot of stuff on my bucket list that was more or less just unresolved issues. Things like going to Montana, hiking back up the Seneca Back-country. Doing charity work, wishing on a certain star, or visiting.. other... - well. I have a lot of things I need to do, but that don't qualify as "bucket list" material.
In no particular order:
Travel:
..) Tour the United States and Canada
..) Tour the United Kingdom
..) See the Northern Lights
..) Be some place where there's no one for MILES.. literally.
.a) Get pictures!
Life:
..) Stop being afraid of success.
..) Learn to draw people realistically.
.a) Learn how to draw realistic looking people in unrealistic situations. <3
..) Publish 10+ novels (set those goals, yeah..)
..) Build my own house, complete with every boyish dream of sci-fi technology I can put into it.
(The best part is? I know how to do all of it already. )
..) Change the world for the better, and leave a legacy.
..) Do something amazing completely alone.
.a) Find someone who wants to share it with me.
As if any of you ever doubted for a moment I was a hopeless romantic.. >_> Don't pretend that you did! _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Really, truly and completely love myself. Be at peace with the world.
I know that's not quite what was meant by the topic, but that's what I really want to do before I die. That, and help anyone and everyone as much as I can. But that's not really a binary (did it or didn't do it) goal. |

That was on my list as "find a wilderness untouched by man." It's one of the few things I can actually check off on my bucket list, because I actually did find one--up in Alaska. Or just about as close to it as you can possibly get, in the modern era. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Of course, as soon as you find a place untouched by man, it isn't any longer.
Perhaps settling for "place visited by man extremely infrequently" ...? _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

Untouched is different from undiscovered. A lot of people can't seem to make the distinction, but it's there. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^
