PERMANANT HORSES ON THE FARM

Cody - ancient Crabbet Arabian gelding. Babysitter extraordinare.

Fancy - 23 yr old TW bay mare. She remaines to be absolutely gorgeous.

Zeus - 5 yr old Cheval black gelding.

Meadow Lark - Two year old filly! Cream dun, appaloosa/QH.

Luke - 4 year old Trekhaner stallion. My eventing horse.

Lyla - 6 year old Rocky Mt. Horse/ Mustang cross.

Rusty - 8 year old strawberry roan with dorsal stripe. Mustang.

Risha - Almost a year old. Blind, assumed Arabian colt. Grey now, will be black.

Cat - Risha's mama. Black assumed Arabian. About 4.

Shiaa - Grey arabian mare. 13.

Faenor - DEVIL PONY!!! EVIL!!!!

Cupcake - Our resident mini donkey

Fiver - the *other* mini donkey.

Boo - Miniature horse

Pinky - Mini horse

Juno - Striking bay mare with socks and blaze. My lovely girl!!

As I said, many of these horses need good homes but may not be ready for adoption. I keep business to only my area so I can check up on the animals, so no emailing me cuz you wanna buy one! So far, I have introduced you to the 'staff.' A good percentage of aforementioned horses will stay with me forever. The following horses are abuse cases and will hopefully be placed.

CrackerJack - Permanantly lame, 3 yr old black colt.

Honey - Palomino mare. Assumed age is 5.

Pinky & Boo

Rusty, (maybe) Risha, Cat, Duke, Mocha, Shiaa, and Gracie.

Ugh. So that's all the horses. Umm. I suppose people want this to work like a blog. With info on particular animals, I will post! 'Specially on Jack and Risha.

Ever since I was tiny I wanted horse riding lessons, but when my Mum was 14 her best friend had a riding accident and broke her neck. She was ok, but it freaked my Mum out so I got a rocking horse instead of riding lessons! Now I ride when I can (ie. On holiday sometimes) but I do wish I could ride more Sad

I feel for ya, Alli. Sad I started riding when I was six, purely because we had a farm. I had a quiet, dependably pony named Sparky, but then I decided to be stupid and stole my uncle's stallion for a ride.

A visit to the ER later... Embarassed

Yeah, I am a total farm girl though. That's probably why I'm single. Wink (That and my stunning good looks of course. *snort*)

Oh yeah; if you want, you can pick a name and I'll give you a more detailed backstory of how he/she came to me, quirks, and whatnot...

I lived in the countryside all my life, Country Girl all the way through! Cities can be fun to visit, but not for more than a day. Too many people!

Yeah, I've never gotten over a slight claustrophobic aspect of my personality. Embarassed I just...don't like big cities. too crowded. Country girl FTW.

But I ain't no country bumpkin, who don't know nuffin' 'bout city life! Wink

hehe, I'm the same. You walk off the main street of my town and you get cow fields. =3
(unfortunately we live on the main road. . .) though about all I know of farms is my parents huge vegetable garden and chickens.
I always wanted to take riding lessons (what little girl doesn't?) but we had just moved and my mom didn't want to let me because I was infamous for quiting things. So it was that the first time I rode a horse(by myself without being walked by someone else) was in Nicaragua, on a short horse that did not like me. He decided he wanted to run back to the barn, and I almost fell off. It was fun though ^^

so how'd you get Lyla?

Lyla's is a funny story. Before my brother left for Iraq, he lived pretty near my farm. Unlike most guys, he really loves horses and animals in general, but was unable to have anything other than a cat in his apartment.

When I say 'pretty close' I mean about 4-5 hours away. Alex made the mistake of driving out to work on a more picturesque route and ended up passing the local auction, which just happened to be having a horse sale. Horse sale actually means, 'slaughter sale.'

Well, stupidity runs in the family, so Alex decided to make a quick stop and just 'make sure' there weren't any horses going to slaughter. When he went in, Lyla was racing around the show area, whinnying at the top of her lungs and being whipped by some laughing rednecks.

Apparently, Latin blood is also runs in the family, because Alex totally lost it. After a five minute shouting match, Alex purchased Lyla for 150 dollars. But my stupid brother didn't have room for a horse OR a trailer.

He called me and I went to pick her up. Then we figured why the guy had sold her so cheap. She was...a maniac. She wasn't halter-broke, we couldn't get her on the trailer...it was raining...nightmare.

Anyways, we got on the trailer mainly because Alex exceeds at sweet-talking young, sucsceptible mares. We barely got her on for the trip. When we got home, she scared the living crud out of us by collapsing as soon as she got off the trailer. Apparently, neither of her hind legs were functioning correctly...I forget why. Although it wasn't funny at the time, it was certainly funny looking back on it. Now Lyla is the sweetest, calmest, healthiest little mare on the farm. ^_^ And Alex remains to be stupid but endearing.

Ack! I'm surrounded by country bumpkins!

Heh, sorry, I'm a city girl.
I used to horse ride, haven't been in years since my aunt had to sell Jude, (she had two horses that lived on a farm a few miles away, Rocky and Jude, Rocky could only be ridden by my aunt and cousin because he was so skittish and a few years ago she had to sell Jude so I stopped riding.)

My aunt also had a dog named Zeus so I'd like to know how you got the horsey named Zeus.

(My aunt's Zeus was a german shepard she found abandoned near a canal so she took him home, he was pretty vicious for a while but calmed down eventually....Good guard dog.)

Zeus is big, muscular and pitch black...someone started calling him, "Almighty Moose." which wasn't dignified and morphed in Zeus or Zuzu. Smile

It was a cruelty case where I gave the owner the option of turning him and the other horse (Perry) over to me, or going to court and having them siezed. She chose voluntary release. I kept Zeus because he is SO shy and sensitive, and is a great Dressage prospect. Perry's got a great home as a trail horse.

I have a little colt called Rocky!!

And yes, country bumpkins abound.

*wild eyes* I can't say anything about Fae. H-he...*startes off into space* *shrieks* AH! HE'S COMING! He KNOWS!

*glares at Britty* Next time I won't put the option up. ><;;

My brother is exceedinlgy gung-ho and idiotic. But that's why I love him! ^^

Faenor...well...he came to me with Sennia, Kalira, and Devvy. They were all going to a feedlot and the trailer flipped on the highway, spilling horses everywhich way. There were ten horses packed like sardines in the trailer. Only six survived. Two died from their injuries later in the week. the remainder were Fae, Sennia, Kalira, and Dev. Actually, I think it was the fact that there were ten horses fitted in a four horse trailer that saved them. The impact flipped Fae (the smallest) onto Kalira's back, but no one went down in the trailer to be trampled because they were so tightly packed.

Sennia, Devvy, and Kalira are the sweetest, most angelic horses in the world.

Fae...is...
