If you don't know the rules of the game: the person who gives the word shows, by putting down _s, how many letters are in the word s/he is thinking of. You guess a letter, or the word. For each incorrect guess, the giver adds a line to the stick figure--if the little guy gets completed before someone guesses the word, game over.
Game over means that you post the word it was and another, or call up for grabs and then the first to poster gets to choose the next word.
If you're posting the number of letters, please put a space between _s. It's easier to read.
I'd also suggest writing the word down--it's annoying when we have to stop and the person doesn't remember the word anymore. I forum-mailed it to myself, for instance.
If someone guesses a wrong letter, put it below the hangman.
The person who completes the word posts the next word--and just as in riddles, if you can't, tell us upon posting. Also, remember a word can have more than one instance of a letter, so just tell us, to be safe. You might guess "a" in b _ n _ n _, before leaving for two weeks.

Try and think about sounds in English. Double-vowels are rare, though not unheard of. And, given that there are only two slots left, consecutive and vowel-surrounded, the letter you give must be by a vowel. Also, given that it's English, that e at the end would probably be silent--there just aren't that many words ending in spoken e's, much less short words.
Yes, I strategize hangman.
And don't worry. You could go through college without running into this word more than a few times.

Yes but generally when there is a silent e it means that there is a consonant separating the e from another vowel, which then has a long sound. If I'm remembering elementary school phonetics correctly, that is.
Yes, but I'm a bookworm, a writer, and an English major. This is a matter of pride. Then again, I was always horrible at hangman I'm bad at just about everything, actually . . .
