Seems sensible. Unless you're obsessed with a celebrity or fictional character, the person you're thinking about most of the time probably knows you, and how often you think of them is one way to judge your relationship. Yes, I think one has to think about it less as a 'cause and effect' (I think of you therefore you think of me) and more as two symptoms of the same cause (we know each other well, therefore if I'm thinking of you it's a good bet you're thinking of me).
