I've started writing, and I have a concept, but it may take a few more days for me to have something substantial to put up. Things have been hectic here with job hunting and my SO's birthday. Could I possibly wrangle a few more days? _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

| You could wrangle a whole week if you tried hard enough. =P Glad there's progress. |

I'm mentally "world building" for the location I chose. I have roughly 400 words at the moment, so I'm hoping to have roughly at least 1000 for my section. I don't want to over-power, so I'll stick to vignettes.
Thanks for the extension!
EDIT: I needed to find the 'world building' that Mane started, and I had issues with finding it. Should we start an info thread so it's easier to find?
I was a bit worried when I looked at the map he had drawn and when I started research, because basically Carson City is just below Mount Killmanjaro and WELL above Mount Fuji. Since I wanted to set my section in Japan, I thought I was scuppered, but he said that anything in red and orange was deffo underwater. Japan seems to be mostly green in Tohoku and Hokkaido, so I'm going to keep using one of those places. ^_^ _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

You and your Japanese, Rav... xD
If we want to consolidate information, it should be in the first post of the thread, methinks. I'll edit in that post of Mane's, and we can always add stuff later if we want.
And I'm still not sure if the red/orange is the submerged or the dry areas. =S |

I think what was supposed to happen was that anything red/orange was ABOVE water, and anything green was underwater. Carson City IS above Mount Fuji, but it's underwater because it's a valley; from that map, I think the very top of Mount Fuji would be above water but Japan would be almost completely underwater. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

No offense, but that wasn't what was said in the earlier post and I've written over 1000 words now. I'm not too keen on the idea of starting all over after 3 weeks of work, especially when the world-building specifics weren't made clear in the first place. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

The actual sea level is probably a little lower, but there are lots of places in the mountains that retain the water. As far as what's not covered in water... Anything on this map that's red or bright orange is underwater |
That's what was said earlier that I was referring to; I actually had to go back and read everything because it's been so long I've forgotten everything but Morgan's name.
RE: red/orange/green, it doesn't make a lot of sense that the higher altitudes would be underwater while things closer to sea-level are above water; I think we tried to clarify that in subsequent posts, but it never got reflected in the original post.
BUT since that was said outside of the actual work, I don't see why that can't change. Just post whatever you have--definitely don't rewrite anything! This is just for fun, after all. And you're right that everything was super muddy; I don't think I had a clear focus from the get-go, haha. So anything vague, just fill in the blanks.
We shall build a brand new world! MWAHAHAHA!!! _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

It's 1,300 odd words at the moment. I'm finding it a little difficult to even out the dialogue and action - I'm concerned it's become a little heavy handed, but I think that I can even it out by Saturday morning.
If you want, I can give you it so far to have a glance over in PM or on the forum. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Done and posted. If there are terminology questions, that's fine. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Wow! That was intense. o_o Very nice. I hope they make it! =o
Anybody want to step up to bat? I'll do it if there are no takers.
EDIT: I guess I'm up! I still don't have an idea in mind, so it's not too late to step in and take the spot.

Okay... I have an idea, I have a general outline... Just need to write it now.
EDIT: I'm really sorry about this, guys. >_< Family troubles, and the army's overworking me. I'm still planning on doing this ASAP! |
