I don't know that they're 'kindred spirits' so much as two people who are both young and naive, and think music can solve everything.
I'm glad you guys like it, it's a story I've been meaning to write for a while. I also can't claim rights to the song, it's off a cd called Sound Neighbors, and the singer herself is attributed in the YouTube link. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I knew it! Sea myths always win!
Well done. I'll get ya next time, ya meddling kid!
(Yeah, I know I completely messed up that pop-culture reference)
EDIT: Yeah, i was using the term 'kindred spirits' rather loosely, but they were very similar people.
Sorta. _________________

Congrats, Asa! Well earned, in my opinion.
Even though I liked the other stories (and would not mind in the least to see them progressed!), your take on "aliens" was a bit mind bending. I'm a huge sucker for anything that requires a shift of my mental or cognitive alignment. Plus, the way you merged the music and story's meanings was interesting. As an experiment in the uncommon, which the WG's are intended to push us toward, I think yours was fantastic.
Well earned, and congratulations! _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

Well, yes. I knew that everyone would immediately take 'aliens' to mean extraterrestrials, but 'alien' simply means 'different from me'. Originally both parties were going to be human, an aristocratic officer trying to interview and get information from stolid peasant villagers, with the officer's opinion of villager slowly changing as he learned about them. That's also alien. But that story was taking forever and going nowhere, and this one has been practically written (it's in the song, really) for a long time now, and it just flowed.

Yeah...I was really hoping somebody would write about somebody from a different country assimilating into a new culture, though most everyone would write about space creatures. Asa came the closest to my original idea. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

I tried, I wanted the Alien in mine to be an 'alien' not because it was not from earth but because it had such a different out look. I liked Asa's because the similarities between the two protagonists emphasized the greater differences between them. Well written and well executed. _________________ "He gave you a life and you should cherish that treasure." - Benny
