Has anyone upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista yet? There were several positive reviews in the Wall Street Journal which looked promising, but Vista doesn't seem to be causing me any problems (I have Ultimate, and it's only crashed once). Do people think it's worth upgrading now, or stick with what works?
Also, this can be a forum to discuss relative merits and demerits beyond the scope of my particular question. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

| Well, I understand that Windows 7 uses much less RAM and processor power, so the switch might be worth it regardless. It also has a bunch of new features, for example they seem to have seriously changed the way the taskbar works. But I haven't really used either system much at all, so I couldn't say. |

Supposedly Microsoft have fiddled with the power consumption side of things

Mainly of benefit to intel CPUs by the sound of it.
I've been thinking of getting a netbook to take to lectures with me. The uni is meant to provide a notetaker but no such joy and my laptop runs out of batteries fairly quickly. If I do I can see myself putting W7 on it to try and milk a bit more time out. _________________ Never forget,

If Vista is working for you, then you're probably fine sticking with it for a while longer.
If you've got XP and are thinking of upgrading, skip Vista and go straight to Windows 7. Do not pass "Go". Do not collect $200. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |
