|
|
| Quote: | Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has described himself as the most persecuted person "in the entire history of the world".
Mr Berlusconi also said he was "the best prime minister we can find today".
In an impassioned statement, he then mistakenly told reporters he had spent millions of euros on "judges", before correcting himself to say "lawyers".
Mr Berlusconi was speaking two days after Italy's top court lifted a law granting him immunity while in office. |

He's better than Bush was. Certainly more entertaining, and at least he hasn't started unjustified wars and then managed them so badly as to leave his goals unaccomplished and his country mired in sectarian conflicts in a country on the other side of the planet from Italy. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

That's a debatable subject really. While Bush did engage in hostilities unnecessary, and had all the diplomacy of a disgruntled hippo, Berlusconi has been just as bad for Italy on a domestic scale, in a comparative level. A friend I made during my year abroad had moved to Italy to be with her fiance/husband, she was very heated in her criticism of the levels of corruption within local and national government, and also in his policies regarding the prosecution of sexual harassment or abuse/attacks, and fraud. ie changing laws at the drop of a hat.
Don't get me wrong, I do think Bush was an utter plonker, but I find Berlusconi is much more selfish and self-absorbed on certain levels perhaps. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

Also, way to make Bush look lucid. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

At least Bush had the good sense to say "Uhhh", or make up his own words. I really only have one response to this:
