Whoa, after receiving the taint her eyes went white instead of blue!!! (The latter of which seems to be the normal colour for Bel's taint pain, as seen in chapter 1). Soulstone... Or Siderean... Or something else?

oooo So true....
....but then again he did say it was "activation" right? And when the other people use their soulstone powers their eyes turn white...
So...Willow isn't affected by some people's power but she is by others... 
Only another week until the secret comes out and this thread will probably be no longer....  |

Anyways, back to ideas on Willow's soulstone power?
I'm seriously uncertain... I think though, that who/what species she is will give us a big hint on what her soulstone power is. (Obviously)
Can someone clearly define what exactly Nanashi's power is? I have a shifty theory but it borders on who/what Nanashi is and what she does. I've read the archives a bit but can't seem to place precisely what she does. It's like what Willow asked, "Nanashi, is there anything you can't do?" |

Thanks to Nanashi's converted Siderean soulstone, she can use any power (well, almost any - she doesn't have any required secondary powers, so can suffer from side effects... like trying to use Fel's power of dragonification and ending up as a big splat (not that there's anything wrong with that, Squee!) because her body isn't designed to distort like that).
We don't actually know what her power was when she was an ordinary 'umie (well, as ordinary as a soulstone bearer gets). It's been the subject of almost as much speculation as Willow's power.

I know I don't normally browse this forum but . . . *dies* XD
And I seem to have gotten the impression that Nanshi's original soulstone power was invisibility. I know she does it after she's been all sidereanified, but somehow I thought she could do it beforehand?

Well guys, it's been a BLAST reading all your crazy and not so crazy theories in this thread. Seriously. You've made me think and rethink the reasons behind what Willow is with all your speculation and it's made this comic so much better than it's original incarnation.
Your feedback and speculation has been amusing, insightful, and most of all priceless.
Thank you for getting so involved in this comic. I love you all for it.
But today's update brings this thread to an end - there can be no more speculation about WHAT she is. But... now you can speculate about WHY she is what she is... and I think that calls for a brand new thread.
And I look forward to lurking about in the new one just as I have here
