... using digitigrade style leg extenders. Sweet!

Here's a high def video showing the lady who made them putting them on and walking on some gentle hills as well as flat surfaces.

Building something THAT cool is the kind of thing that gets you MAJOR geek cred. ^_^

According to her web site, "Level surfaces are easy. Sharp inclines are difficult and stairs are downright touchy. These can go out of doors for Renfairs and a day in the park. No, you cannot roller skate in them."

I'd imagine most people use them for costumes, or just being a bit taller.

No, I don't imagine they serve a greater purpose to humanity as a whole, but in the scope of the performing arts these things have some fantastic potential. I would imagine groups like Cirque du Soliel would have a definite interest in such technology. I can just imagine a dancing fauns act! Very Happy

That would be so perfect for Cirque - actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they had something like that already.

I can only imagine what it would be like to take stairs in those things...
