Week 7: Color
I had to take:
* Two all white photographs
* Three all of a single color. (Exception: no green vegetation!)
For these five photos, (3 color, 2 white) they should be poetic and should contain more than one object or person.
* Two complementary color relationships
* Two that deal with the concept of "accent" : one moment of color that contrasts with its surroundings.
* One more color-centered photograph of my choice.
Let me know if you don't think these photos make the criteria. Also, let me know if you think I overused a model. I'm also debating on dropping either "Trapped" or "Who Needs Enemies?" If I dump either of them at all. Let me know what you think!
Clean - White
Destroyer - Complementary
Fierce - Complementary
Lady - Accent
Mend - White
Oozing Orange - Monochromatic
When You Wish - Monochromatic
Sunday Mornings - Monochromatic
Trapped - Misc.
Twilight - Accent
Who Needs Enemies? - Misc. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

While I like "Trapped" and "Who needs enemies", I'm not sure which should be dropped. Since it's concentrating on colour co-ordination rather than dynamism, I'd say "Trapped".
Although, I'm not entirely sure about "Fierce", it's not really my favourite, but I do like "Lady" as the blue stands up well. _________________ Bernard [about the job]: The pay's not great, but the work is hard.

...You kidding? Fierce is... frankly as scary as poop, but pretty good in my opinion. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

I don't think this week is up to your usual standard, Mane. I love Clean, and When You Wish the most. Second place goes to Oozing Orange, once I'd figured out what it was, and Twilight (though it's a ripoff). With all the rest, the composition seems off - not strong at all. What was up with Mend? I couldn't figure out what to focus on, and I couldn't figure out why it was called Mend.
Aaand, I'm sorry it's so harsh this week. *offers cookie* _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Mend is bandages and what looks like an arm brace. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

No worries, Asa. I agree. But I also only have the camera for three days, and RL has been a bit tough with my parents' divorce. I've been understandably distracted.

And you'd be right! That's the brace I've had to wear these past 2-3 weeks because of the contusion (internal bleeding in my soft tissue) on my hand/wrist. The cloth on top of it is the sleeve I wear underneath. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

This past week was spring break, so we had 2 weeks to get pictures...but we couldn't get the cameras for 9 days because of break.
Week 8: Splits and Overlays
Basically we had to use 2 or more photographs for each piece. We had to either crop them together or use blend modes to create a double exposure. Only 5 photos this time; 2 splits, 2 overlays, and one more our choice.

Wonderland

Patience and Dreamer are my favorite, the others are too chaotic. The only drawback is that The background shot for both of them kind of gets lost. For Dreamer, I would have liked more definition in the horizon shot - the houses are cut off too high (the overlay is gorgeous, though). For Patience, I couldn't tell if the thinker was expressing the inside of the screamer, or the other way around.
Nice difference, though. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Wow, way behind. Gotta catch up.
Week 9: Self-Portraits
2 pictures with studio lighting
2 pictures in a natural environment with nothing man-made
2 pictures that could be used for the color assignment
2 pictures using long exposure
2 pictures using an alternate identity
2 pictures promoting an idealized version of yourself
This project was particularly hard because I couldn't see what was going on with the shot as I was taking it and I had to stage everything. Some of them I was able to use a remote, but some of them I had to use a timer.
Adonis - Idealized
NOTE: This is an artistic nude. The thinking behind this is that I have poor self-body image, and I'd like to be proud of what I have.
Drowned - Alternate Identity
Gold - Idealized
Interjection - Studio Lighting
Mutant - Long Exposure
Oxygen - Single Color
Pores - Studio Lighting
Pushing Daisies - Single Color
Route - Long Exposure
Sewer Rat - Alternate Identity
Survivor - Nature
Trail of Tears - Nature _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

Hee hee, leg hair! ^_^ Sorry.
I really liked your studio lighting ones, a lot. Very nice. I also liked the ones with water, you captured to motion so well. Gold is really intense. I saw that one, then Interjection, and I was like, "Ooh... oooh!" And again, your long exposure ones are too ghostly - you moved too fast and it didn't capture enough motion. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

I did the same thing as AsA when I saw the leg hair...
I laughed.
I really like oxygen and sewer rat. My faves. Could I perhaps ask something of ye Maen? So... I am going in Art, emphasis in photography and well I was wondering if perhaps on some of these you could add more detail as to how you did them? Also, what are you shooting with? _________________ I can't remember....oh *le sigh* |

ACK!!!! Sorry, guys. Totally forgot about this thread a little....
Miho: Did I ever PM you about that?
Darkwing: Thanks. I, unfortunately, do not have the camera any more (borrowed it from the university) but I hopefully will get a similar camera in the next year or so.
Asa: Thanks. I actually made sure to correct that in the next couple shots when I did portraiture, etc.
Here's the next assignment: Portraiture
I needed to take two reflections (no mirrors), two with unusual lighting, and several other guidelines.
Class
Diva
Dopplegangers
Freddy
Late
Mother
Gender
Reflections on Broadway
Sass

I like Constellation, I like Mother, I like where Doppelgangers is going, but it's a bit too unfocused still. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^
