I located the problem - Those pages are accessible normally, but they aren't accessible from the archive page because the link is to | Code: | | http://www.earthsongsaga.com/ols vol3/13.html | instead of | Code: | | http://www.earthsongsaga.com/vol3/13.html | (note the "ols"). The same applies to page 14. |

Ah, okay. My bad there. I'm currently revamping the archives, hence the "ols" which was a typo for "old" that I haven't been bothered to fix. _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

I didn't think a whole heck of a lot of it at the time until I read this post. I had received an email alerting me to a reply on a post, that came up and said the post could not be found.
Here's the link if you would like to check it out yourself.

| Stuff gets deleted. If that happened recently, odds are it was a spambot posting on a thread you were watching, whose post was deleted soon after by a moderator. |

Actually, the original post still exist and can be found here:

I know that that was what it was looking for, because in the email notification, it always includes the subject of the post as part of the subject of the email. That's how I found it. |

So why isn't it set up to just redirect to the original post then? It seems a bit broken in a sense. |

Eh, I can think of a couple of possibilities; maybe the topic reference is stored with the post or something silly like that so it doesn't know what topic you were refering to once the post is deleted, it may just have been one of the things that was on the, ‘to do,’ list at the end of the dev cycle and got overlooked, or maybe the search algorithm works better if the content is filled in a certain way, maybe the post deletion tool actually deletes the post from the database rather than just hiding it, as it does on a VB forum, so that the post is actually completely gone from any reference in the database; as I've never looked into the workings of a phpBB forum they'd only be guesses at best. _________________ Never forget,

I seem to have found another one like that. Here's the link:

Does this really happen this frequently? Because if it doesn't, this might be an indication to a problem.
The original topic for that one can be found here:

EDIT: I noticed that the new post is still there,.... THANK GOD! I'm glad squee didn't delete it.
EDIT #2: Now that I think of it, this has happened twice now. Both times were after I changed something in my signiture. And both times, there were still new posts. Everything seems to be fine until I change my siggy. |

We had a spammer through a day or so ago who posted a lot of responses to existing threads. Those got deleted, of course. But notification emails go out immediately when a new post is made in an existing thread. There's really not much to be done about it. If it bothers you, I suggest turning off email notifications. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

I like that idea. In the meantime though, if my whinning is so insufferable to you,... feel free to quit listening.
On a side note, I was just exploring a potiential problem. I thought it might be connected to me having changed my signiture. Anyone else have a problem? |

I don't see any gain to anyone in this staying open; the issue relating to deleted posts has been raised and explained; and the original topic of the thread has been addressed. Locked. _________________ Never forget,
