February 14th here in the states, kiddo. How long have you been here and you haven't gotten the holidays right? **gives noogies** _________________ . Dubbed "Usagi" by AsA .

I actually forgot it was Valentine's day - even though I helped people shop for their significant others on Friday. I didn't remember until my friend called me and I was like "Oh yeah, today's her birthday . . . and valentine's day."
I also failed to notice that there was a Friday the 13th. >>; _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

Not that it would register for you, but the new Jason movie came out on Friday the 13th. Hur hur hur, dramatic advertising, hur hur hur. ::hits self::

I may be one of the few women in countries that support it who didn't want a Valentine's from her significant other. It's my sister's birthday so I'd rather make it her day. I told my man this and he still got me a card. D'awwwww! Forgot to send it though. Typical! _________________ He who does not eat cheese will go mad. ~ French proverb.

So does my friend. This affliction is more common than I supposed. =o _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I always miss holidays...*scowls* You are all my retrospective valentines!
I missed Christmas two years ago. Literally, no one remembered. And I'm a Christian! *feels terrible* But the past is the past!
Friday the 13th is an unlucky day...my nephew flipped an ATV and broke his ankle, foolish boy! And I had to take him to the ER. *grumbles* _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb

I'll remember to ignore it and it's superstition. Friday the 13th is never a really bad day for me. Most of the time it's just average, and often it's very good.
I should start worrying about Tuesday the 12th for a change. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

But Christmas has very little to do with Christian religion other than sharing a name, and some hastily applied religious connotation to a pagan holiday...
From recollection (as I'm in no position to do the research atm), Christ's actual birthday according to biblical scholars would fall somewhere in the first half of the year. Closer to summer, I think. May? Anyway, I don't remember exactly.
December 25th was a pagan holiday though, adapted to the Christian religion during the Council of Nicaea (I think it was).
I'll do more research on this from work tonight, if I can remember. Suffice to say though, most "Christian" holidays weren't very Christian when they began. That's not to say that you can't use them to celebrate Christ, just that being Christian and observing Christmas really don't have much to do with one another...

You make me feel so ignorant! It's a good thing...expanding one's knowledge base, doncha know.
But seriously mate; don't bother researching it. You're busy enough as it is. If I'm interested enough, I'll research it. _________________ Fall down seven times, get up eight. --Japanese Proverb
