A child with ES's element would go boom because the resonances created by the Soulstone would conflict with those of the Manifest Stone. Unfortunalty this shoots down your second theory, I don't think it's possible for two different elements to be in close proximity because the resonances would conflict and probably result in explosions.

However, an Eve of Earthsongs' would not go boom when touching the MS, only a person with a Soulstone would. If Willow doesn't have a Soulstone it's entirely possible for her to touch it.

Ah, I see. I just figured an Eve had a stone or some of the element infused into her too. But it sounds like this is not the case. Anyway, I guess that means my 1st theory is still plausible since it's about Willow being Earthsong's Eve.

Eves have a particularly large concentration of their planet's element in their blood.

Your theory's still plausable but Eve's don't have Soulstones, they have a large portion of the planets element in their blood, (for example, the human element is iron) this grants them their powers. As the generations progress the amount of element in the blood thins and the power grows weaker until it is a small natural ability. Soulstone's amplify the natural ability of a race to the level of an Eve, but as Olibish says in Genesis "unnaturally so."

/Edit. Aaaaaand Sage just summed it up in a sentance....I talk too much.

Hmm. Didn't know our element was Iron, though I suppose it makes sense. Though actually, I have thought it would be carbon. Which would probably make our soulstone diamond or something. Though soulstones don't really have anything to do with your planet's element, so...

The Lady has said that Gaia's element is iron, which works because Earth's core is made of iron, and we have iron in our blood.

However, I should point out that most large planetary objects have iron cores, IIRC. That would be because iron is the (second to) most stable element, and is the end result of fusion in large stars. But we can continue to suspend our disbelief. Very Happy

Many planets have iron cores. Only Gaia's iron is sentient. Simple enough =P

I was think more along the lives of a child of Bel that he is unaware of. like he was so busy with his war with Earthsong the twisted remnant of his planet spit her out and he is too preoccupied to notice.

An Eve has large amounts of their parent planet's element in their blood, yet they aren't affected by the resonances with the planet. Why is this? Do we know exactly, because the major difference I see is that the Eve's element is diluted.
Sooo...what if Willow's Soulstone is somehow in liquid form?

That...doesn't seem likely. Liquid or not, she'd still have the same amount. It would just be more spread out, and I don't think that would really effect the resonance much.

Whoa. I just had a random flash of Bel saying, "Willow. I am your father." Deeeefinately need to watch less Star Wars.

The 5th paragraph is all about Eves: LINK

And further down is the explanation of the soulstone phenomenon as presented by the Alpha planets.

Enjoy.

The thing I've never understood about elements is how each can be unique. Each planet has its own element, fine; but how many planets are there? 92? Or thousands? So does that mean that each has a chemical element? Or is it a more classic interpretation of element, that is to say, that not only chemical elements as we understand them can make up a planet's core, but chemical compounds as well? Like a sodium bicarbonate core, with sodium bicarbonate being considered an "element" by virtue of being the substance that makes up a planet's core?

I think Willow is an agent for the Time Agency who accidentally fell through a Rift in time and space in Cardiff. XP Crack Theories FTW.

I suspect that could best be explained by looking at how many words Eskimos have for snow, and following from there.

*"Today class, we will be examining Gaia, and her element of Iron-that-goes-rusty-not-quite-as-fast-as-the-other-types-of-iron-in-the-ES-universe. Yes, question in the back?'
"Is that like Iron-that-goes-red-slowly?"
"No, Iron-that-goes-red-slowly and Iron-that-goes-rusty-not-quite-as-fast are quite different, as you can see on page 96 of "Iron - what is it?"*
