"We've secured the hostages." Carl said, "Met some resistance but seem to be clear through to the transports."

He put up his sword. The footsteps from above trembled through the air, beating through the heart of the building. Then the other team were upon them and there was no more time for fighting, only a sort of half formed charge, its speed torn away by the chaos on the stairs and the burden of the wounded. Always down, towards the waiting vehicles.

Dawson paused when he first saw the rest of their group. They were covered in dirt, black scorch marks, and more than the both combined: blood. His perceptions shifted, and everything went into pastel green and cream white. It was an emergency room again, walking down a narrow hallway with people hurrying in every direction. The smell of death and disinfectant reached him from across the void of memory.

Stepping up to the nearest group of them (Carl, Barrett, or Niamh), Dawson wasted no time with introductions.

"Let's get the wounded back to the medical van before we do anything else. We need to move the worst cases first and stabilize them. You know the situation better than I, so lead on."

Jaze was fairly exhausted, a little fear still in the back of his mind, and with bruises galore from the elbow he had gotten earlier. Adding insult to injury, Jae Kim was sassing him.

"Jae, I don't need sass right now," he growled, "I didn't hear the radio." He lost a little speed when Jae yanked herself away from him, tugging him out from wherever he was and bringing him a little closer to reality. Realizing where they were, he picked up speed, outpacing Jae rudely.

I got the job done, didn't I? Williams is dead, he thought. Jae slid down the banister, and had just fallen on her butt. Jaze smirked inwardly before, not heeding Jae's words, accidentally tripped over his own feet in the dark stairwell and launched himself into a wall face-first.

"Uuurgg..." he moaned, pushing himself away from the wall. He felt his nose and felt a little wetness. "Aw, hell. Blood? Really?"

Slowly stumbling back up to her feet again, Jae yanked Jaze along with her and started to make her way down the stairs again.

"C'mon kiddo. We're almost there..."

Within the next 5 minutes, then entire team would be re-assembled again and heading towards the white vans downstairs. Anyone with serious wounds would be seen to and sent back to their home base.

Obviously, there were still things that needed to be sorted out and attended to, but these things could wait until after they had rested and gotten cleaned up. They had accomplished their mission after all. Everything else could wait to be analysed.

((I'm sorry for the weak ending and the belated update. Suffice to say that my uni work has been bogging me down again, and there wasn't much I could do about that. D: I'll try and open up a new chapter ASAP, but if you could OOC me if you're still playing, I would be very grateful.))
