Consoles tend to last pretty well, as long as you don't pour liquids in them. And blow the dust out occasionally. _________________ Keeper of The Remnant Minuon (cognomen Lucy, the Eaten One) and the Emissary Caeli |

I played sonic in daycare, when I was four and five, and haven't even really thought about it since. It would be fun to play it again, though. _________________ If you're reading this, you haven't quite made it to the next post. |

My stepfather still has an original megadrive (Genesis to some poeple), as well as original Sonic 1,2 and 3 cartridges. It still sees the light of day on occasion too.
While I'm glad to hear Sonic is doing well (I was a SEGA kid growing up), I cant say Ive any inclination to play the games myself. _________________ If it's not on fire, it's a software problem

Sadly, Squee's old Atari 800 (from 1980) died a few years back, mostly do to being move around too much. In its defense, it was more an old computer than a game console (poor thing tried to compete with Apple II...)
Squee's Sega Genesis, on the other hand, still works, but the controllers...don't. Sadness....
More on topic, while Squee had every Genesis Sonic game there was, ever since the games have...well, sucked. They lost the formula. Just look at the New Super Mario Bros. for the DS, which was quite successful and probably the best game for the DS; Sonic needs to stay as a 2D sidescroller (in fact, there is a sidescroller sonic for the DS that's not half-bad...but not nearly as good as the old). |

I don't think ALL the recent ones have sucked, IMO - and the new one is largely side scrolling during daytime stages.
Personally, I enjoy the 3D ones more than the 2D ones - a lot of people have said they should keep the 2D ones to the handhelds (The one you mentioned has a sequel, btw) and the 3D/Adventurish ones to consoles. _________________ Just because I like scary things doesn't mean I'M- okay, it kinda does sometimes.

My brother has a Genesis hiding under the dresser where we keep our tv. He bought it used a year or two ago and plays it every now and again. _________________ Keeper of Gaia and all the books on Earthsong

I use the Virtual Console/Xbox Live Arcade to play the old ones. _________________ Just because I like scary things doesn't mean I'M- okay, it kinda does sometimes.

Ah, X-Box live... now that they've got a sweet deal set up with Netflix for instant downloads, on top of all the classic games you can get and play (like the original Sonic!), I am seriously of the opinion that it's unequivocally the best system currently available. Wii has the potential to top it, but only once they start to really put out good games that use all that awesome new tech. _________________ I do commissions!

PS3 Home is actually pretty awesome too...
Plus PS3 plays Blu-rays, which is important to me and movie freaks.
360 has the best games selection, and is the longest-established.
Wii is innovative, simple and fun.
I like all of them ^^ _________________ Just because I like scary things doesn't mean I'M- okay, it kinda does sometimes.
