After reviewing the relevant section of the comic, I think Glen Close might be a good choice for Gaia. _________________

Were Earthsong a movie, I would suggest that it be a musical, filled with Broadway actors and actresses.
Idina Menzel for Tengu? I feel like she could pull off nice but sassy/sarcastic.
Sutton Foster could TOTALLY pull off a Felucca. Just saying.

Not quite Broadway, but James Marsden could possibly play Zaebos. Also, Anthony Rapp would play a great Zaebos. Or Howie Michael Smith. Or Neil Patrick Harris.
Amy Adams for Willow. Hands down.
Michelle Pfeiffer has my nomination for Morgan, and Alicia Keyes for K'Thonya.
Nathan Fillion for Jormand. _________________ Keeper of Zaebos' and Jormand's powers.

Yes! There's a good Willow! I think Anthony Rapp would make the best Zae, he's got the best 'awkward bookworm', and is cuter than the rest of them. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Amy Adams WOULD make a good Willow. Especially going by that picture too.
And stop picking your heart throbs for Zaebos, Mane He's gotta be an older actor whether you like it or not! lol...
I still think that Anne Hathaway would make an awesome Felucca. She plays a great goofball and has a really large smile that makes her perfect for it.
Proof of such:
PS Just cause I suggest someone that doesn't mean discussion is closed on the matter! Feel free to keep coming up with new actors! _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

I'd still say HB Carter for Neuria, though that's possibly because I haven't met Morgan yet
Also, totally agree with Michele Pfiefer for Earthsong. She's done otherworldly and ageless before, and is a very mature, talented actress.
My own picks for characters would be:
Scarlett Johansson for Willow. She's a great mix of innocent vulnerability and a core of strength, and I think could totally pull off the depth of character you'd need.
I'd also pick Rupert Everett for Zaebos, almost solely and exclusively because of his voice... -purrr-

This is interesting, because you get to see how everyone interprets the characters XD
Re: Michelle Pfeiffer and Marg Helgenberger as Earthsong: They both seem a bit hard, for Earthsong, to me. I'd always picked ES as being a kind of soft, mothery type.
Re: Black 'Thonya - I thought that too, but I truthfully don't know that many black actresses. I don't tend to see many American films.
After seeing clips of Amy Adams in Junebug, I'd have to agree that she'd make a fantastic Willow.
@ Teh Lady: XD As I was looking for actresses I thought would do Felucca well, Hathaway did cross my mind - but then I thought she wouldn't be tomboy-ish enough :p
@ Mane: Agreeing with the Lady - I think Zaebos needs to be older and nerdier and probably more pinched XD But Sutton Foster looks like she'd make a good Fel. _________________ Dubbed Pants by AsA, via the way of the electric pants. |

Julie Andrews pre-disaster for Earthsong!!! _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

Pre disaster? What happened to Julie Andrews (who is an interesting pick for the roll)?
Rupert Everett could definitely pull of Zaebos. I have to admit though, that when I think of who would voice him on a cartoon, that it's always Liam Neeson that comes to mind.
[Edit: Also! Scarlett Johanson is definitely up there in my top Willow choices] _________________ Keeper of Nanashi's Vambraces and the Amethyst Trees.

She had some sort of cancer in her throat, and when they did surgery to remove it, they messed up, and ruined her vocal chords. Now she sounds like the Queen in Shrek, who was indeed voiced by Julie Andrews, but her voice is no longer sweet and musical enough to voice Earthsong, in my mind.
In fact, I think Earthsong should also be CGI, since she's floaty, translucent, and half not there. _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

ES would be the perfect candidate to be a CGI skin for a motion capture actor, as Gollum was. You'd use a great actress's face and voice, though. _________________ Keeper of Tristram's rings, and Felucca's very expressive ears. |

And I guess they can make her head also purple and translucent? _________________ Self-styled Forum Grandmother, because I hand out nicknames and hugs whether you want them or not. ^_^

....what?
Earthsong would be completely CGI, just modeled on live recordings of a real actress. _________________ ...In accordance with the prophesy.

Exactly as Gollum was. The actor (Andy Serkis) was present on set, and did the vocals live so the other actors had something to play off. He wore a silly suit which recorded his every motion (including those of his face. In the case of ES, I'd guess they'd go for recording the motion of the top half, and covering up the bottom half so the actors could play properly against her) and mapped them later to the CGI model of Gollum. I'd imagine it wouldn't be much of a stretch to make her translucent and floaty. _________________ Keeper of Tristram's rings, and Felucca's very expressive ears. |
