I scored 1 minute, 35 seconds. I don't quite know about foragers/scavengers; we got a little pack-hunter too, for all the good that does in single combat.

If you could parry the reptile's lunge enough to get around behind him, and essentially "hug his neck" you could probably last quite a long time. This probably leads into the "What would you do if it bit off your arm" question, too. You'd probably lose one in the exchange, but could hold on for dear life and prolong your suffering for a bit.

Me, I'd go for inflicting maximum damage on the beast. If I'm going to go, I'm taking it with me. XD
